Those who live in Framingham, Massachusetts know why it is a great place to live and raise a family. The tidy well kempt streets, parks and open spaces, recreational opportunities, great schools and low crime rates make Framingham an ideal location to live work and play.
I was just looking through Sperling’s bestplaces.net when I noticed that the Cambridge-Newton-Framingham Massachusetts Metropolitan Area ranked 12th in Sperling’s fourth annual Most Secure U.S. Places to Live rankings from Farmer’s Insurance Group of Companies.
So how are the cities ranked? The criteria include air quality, crime statistics, extreme weather, job loss numbers, life expectancy, risk of natural disasters and terrorism threats in 379 U.S. cities. The Cambridge-Newton-Framingham-Massachusetts Metropolitan Area ranked 12th among 20 cities or metropolitan areas with populations of more than 500,000 residents.
Those of us who live in this area already know how secure it is, but I thought it was good to see the Cambridge-Newton-Framingham-Massachusetts Metropolitan Area ranked against other cities and metro areas in the United States.
Another great aspect of living here is the genuine sense of community one feels. Residents are warm and friendly, something seldom seen in larger metropolitan areas. If you have been thinking of relocating to the Framingham area, this should come as a bit of good news. Another bit of good news for those with school-aged children is the fact that Framingham public schools spend more per pupil ($8,551/student) that the U.S. average ($6,058/student).
There are a myriad of things that go into making Framingham a great place to live. Its ranking in the Most Secure U.S. Places to Live rankings from Farmer’s Insurance Group of Companies is just one more thing that makes this city stand out in a crowd.
