I have just finished reading an article in WickedLocal.com entitled, “Learn how to reduce your home energy bills“. This article mentions an upcoming free speaker series that aims to help residents become more energy conscious and lower their energy bills.
This series, which will start on Wednesday, April 23, 2008, comes at a time when gasoline, heating oil and electricity are reaching record highs. Tony Shirley of the Energy All Stars will talk about how to save from 10 to 40% on heating and cooling bills by installing the correct home insulation. The talk will be held at the Goodnow library and will run from 7:00p.m. to 8:30 p.m. At the end of the talk, residents will be able to take part in a question and answer session.
Among other things, Shirley will discuss several different tests that can help to evaluate the insulation of your current home. Industry experts agree that home insulation can play a major role in how the energy efficiency of a home. Even if you have just bought a newly constructed home, it is important to remember that even new homes that are up to code can have a noticeable amount of leakage. Shirley will also be discussing how to deal with insulation problems folks may encounter in their homes. Helping to make your home more energy efficient is not only a great way to save money on your heating and cooling costs, but is also environmentally friendly.
If you are feeling the pinch from rising energy costs, this may be a good opportunity for you to learn what you can do to save some of your hard-earned money. This is a great opportunity for all to learn how to detect and repair potential insulation problems in their homes.
